Personalized Housing Assistance, or APL, is a financial aid granted by the Caisse d'Allocations Familiale (CAF).
📑 How can I check if I’m eligible for APL?
Several factors come into play, and only you have access to all the necessary information.
The easiest way: run a simulation on the CAF website (caf.fr) using your contract details to check your eligibility.
📬 How to apply?
-
Log in to your personal account on caf.fr
-
Fill in the housing assistance application form
-
Prepare the following documents:
-
-
-
Your rental contract
-
A CAF-format rent certificate completed and signed by Colonies. For convenience, this certificate is directly downloadable from your tenant space under the "My documents" section.

⚠️ Important
- Like any property manager or landlord, Colonies does not communicate directly with the Family Allowance Fund (CAF), does not have access to your personal information, and obviously does not influence the amount of benefits granted.
- Colonies simply provides the required certificate and reports any unpaid rent if applicable.
- APL applications can only be made after your lease has started. You must therefore wait until you’ve moved in to begin the process.
