Yes, we have drawn up a shared living charter / house rules, which each resident undertakes to respect from the moment he or she joins the shared apartment.
π€ Why a shared living charter?
Cohabitation between several people implies collective uses: common spaces, cooking, noise, respect of intimacy... A charter makes it possible to set a clear and equitable framework for all, and thus avoid misunderstandings or tensions. These rules are accepted by all signatories of a lease with Colonies, who undertake to respect them.
π What does this charter contain?
- The principles covered are as follows:
- Respect for other housemates (space, lifestyle, privacy)
- Use and maintenance of common areas
- Noise management (during the day and especially in the evening)
- Safety rules (locking doors, vigilance in case of absence)
- Inviting friends or events to the home
- Friendly communication in the event of disagreement
The charter may vary slightly from one residence to another, but it always follows the same main principles. It is available as an appendix to your contract/lease.
πββοΈ Who ensures that these rules are respected?
- Each tenant is responsible for ensuring compliance with the charter, in a spirit of cooperation.
- In the event of difficulty or dispute, we encourage dialogue and compromise.
- If behavior seriously disrupts community life, Colonies will intervene more formally.
