What are the rules on noise in housing?

🕰️ Time slots to respect

To ensure everyone’s peace and quiet, noise should be kept to a minimum between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., every day of the week. This includes:

  • Music (speakers, instruments…)

  • Loud phone calls or conversations

  • DIY or construction work

  • Noisy movement in shared areas

  • Use of outdoor amenities (pool, garden...)

Even during the day, please keep sound levels reasonable, especially in residences with shared spaces.

These rules are not only defined by Colonies, but also reflect legal requirements.

🏠 In shared spaces

Shared areas include the kitchen, living room, dining area… Please:

  • Close doors gently

  • Keep noise low early in the morning or late at night

  • Let your flatmates know in advance if you're having a guest or hosting a gathering

⚠️ Important

  1. Colonies takes complaints from the neighbourhood or building management very seriously, as they can impact everyone’s satisfaction and compromise the reputation, values, and growth of Colonies.

  2. Any repeated disturbance or complaint from external parties (neighbours, property managers, building caretakers...) will be thoroughly investigated.
If one or more residents are found responsible, measures may be taken immediately, including formal warnings, restricted use of common areas, installation of control devices, or, as a last resort, early termination of the lease.

  3. We are committed to maintaining good relationships with the neighbourhood and expect everyone to behave respectfully both inside and outside the residence. We're counting on you!
