Can I ask to change roommates if living together becomes difficult?

We know that sharing a flat can be a rich human adventure... but sometimes a complex one. Sometimes, living with one or more roommates can become difficult.

😕 What should you do if tensions arise in your shared apartment?

First and foremost, it's often helpful to:

  • Engage in direct, calm and benevolent dialogue with the person concerned.

  • Call on the Community Leader, if your residence has one

  • Seek a collective solution with all housemates if the problem is shared.

Many tensions can be defused with a little communication, and this is often the best way forward.

📩 Can I request a change of roommate?

No, it is not possible to request the departure of a roommate. As manager, Colonies does not have the power to order a tenant to leave. However, we can help:

➡️ We can help by firmly communicating the need to respect living rules and by acting as an intermediary.

👥 What if the situation becomes unliveable?
