What to do in the event of loss ?

🔒 Ensure your safety and that of others

  • Turn off the water or electricity if necessary.

  • Inform the other residents of the property.

  • In case of immediate danger, contact emergency services (fire department - 18, police - 17, etc.).

📸 Document the damage

  • Take photos and videos of any visible damage.

  • Make a detailed list of the affected items.

  • Do not throw anything away without prior approval (unless it poses a danger).

📩 Notify us promptly

Contact us as soon as possible via the tenant portal or the emergency number.

Please include:

  • The nature of the incident

  • The date and time

  • A brief but clear description of the situation

  • Any photos or videos as attachments

❓What happens next?

  • If you are in a shared flat, you must also inform your personal insurance provider as soon as possible — legal deadlines for coverage can be very short. Your insurer will assist you with the next steps, and Colonies can act as an intermediary with its own insurer if needed.

  • If insurance is included in your contract, our team will liaise with the insurer and keep you informed of the next steps.
